The La Mata market is a charming, more traditional Spanish market held in the streets near the La Mata promenade. Smaller and more intimate than the Torrevieja Friday market, it has a distinctly local feel with plenty of fresh produce from the surrounding Vega Baja agricultural region. It's a perfect Wednesday morning activity, combined with a stroll along La Mata's stunning 2.3 km Blue Flag beach and a seafood lunch at one of the local chiringuitos.
